As one of the most important national parks in Costa Rica, Corcovado National Park does not really need an introduction. It is a very loved place by those who wish to see the lush nature of the country and the flourish of wildlife that make the park their habitat.

With the Costa Rica Corcovado experience, you not only get to see the park with the Corcovado Foundation as your host, but also interact and support the local people.

The Corcovado Foundation is a leading non-profit organisation dedicated to preserve the rainforest through conservation and community engagement.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrive at Drake Bay
With your own transportation, you will arrive at Drake Bay, preferably before lunch, so you can enjoy your lunch at the Corcovado Foundation Biohostel. The rest of the day, you will have free time to get to know your surroundings and the hostel and you can enjoy a presentation on the Concovado Foundation. Dinner will be at the Biohostel.

Meals included: lunch & dinner.

Day 2 – Corcovado & kids
After an early breakfast, you will leave at 6am to take the boat to the Sirena station at Corcovado National Park for a guided nature hike to look for wildlife in the secondary forest (around 4h). A picnic lunch will be provided to you in the park before returning to the Biohostel.
At the Biohostel, you will help to prepare some food for the children who will join your group for an environmental education activity with the volunteers of the Foundation. Dinner will be at the Biohostel.

Day 3 – Agriculture
After breakfast, you will get a hands-on introduction to Regenerative Agriculture, with a variety of activities depending on the priorities of the local family: preparing organic fertilizers (compost or mountain microorganisms), preparing the soil to grow fertilizers, mulching the planting area or planting different vegetables. Depending on the season, it may be possible to harvest vegetables or fruits.
The afternoon is free to enjoy to your leisure or to keep on working with your local hosts on the farm. Dinner will be shared with the local families and you can choose to partake in speaking English with them and/or trainee tour guides.

Meals included: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 4 – Departure
This morning, you will thank the lodge staff of the Corcovado Foundation by making breakfast for them and enjoying it together.
After breakfast, you will depart from Drake Bay having gained more knowledge about the natural environment you visited and leaving a positive impact behind; thank you!
