Our website address is: https://positiveimpacttourism.com and we have a Facebook-account (@travelthechange) and Instagram-account (positiveimpacttourism) (‘Sites’). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive form users of our Sites and guests & partners who communicate with us in any way. 

We use your Personal Information only for providing and improving the Sites and our services to guests and partners. By using the Sites and/or communicating with us in any way, you agree to the collection and use of information by us and our partners in accordance with this policy. 

We do not collect or use any information for other purposes than the purposes described in this privacy policy unless we have received your consent to do so.   

What we collect and why

While using our Sites, communicating with us or using our services, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information ( “Personal Information”). This information will be used to execute our services. Data is stored in secured servers of Hostiger; our hosting partner. 

Log data

We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Sites (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Sites that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics. In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics, that collect, monitor and analyze the log date for marketing purposes. 

Communications and comments

When you send e-mails or messages to us, we may save these communications. We may use the information you send us to contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. When visitors leave comments on the dashboard or Sites, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the Sites, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website. The rights of uploaded images are automatically transferred to us. and we may use any uploaded images for promotional purposes. 

Cookies

Our Sites may use cookies. Cookies are files with small amounts of date, which may include an anonymous identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your computer’s hard drive. The information generated by cookies could be transferred to our secured servers at Hostinger. We use this information to collect information in order to be able to analyse the use of our Sites by visitors in order to improve our services and marketing.

Keeping your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your choices

If you have created a PIT-account, you can see, change or delete your data in your own dashboard after signing in. You can also request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
